This Privacy Policy explains how RoaringShifts collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our automotive social media platform.
Last updated: August 31, 2026
When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, profile information, and any optional details you provide such as your display name, avatar, and vehicle information.
Information about your vehicles, modifications, build showcases, parts listings, and related media you choose to share on the platform.
We collect data about how you interact with our platform, including pages visited, features used, time spent, and general usage patterns to improve our services.
When you enable location services, we may collect location information to show nearby events, meets, and service providers. You can disable this feature at any time.
Cruise lobbies show the people driving with you on a shared map. While you are in a lobby, your position is shared with the other members of that lobby — nobody else — and it is not kept as a location history after your drive.
Background sharing is off unless you turn it on. If you switch it on, your position keeps reaching your lobby while the app is closed or your phone is locked, which is what lets people driving with you still see you. It runs only while you are in a lobby, it stops the moment you leave one or switch it off, and your phone shows the system location indicator the whole time it is running.
Private areas always win. Any private area you set — around your home, for instance — is stored on your device and never sent to us. Inside one, your position is not published at all, in the foreground, in the background, or on a car display. You do not appear as “hidden” in a public lobby either, because that would itself reveal that you had arrived somewhere private.
Positions in a lobby are short-lived: they are held only long enough to draw the live map and expire automatically shortly after you stop sharing.
Messages, forum posts, comments, and other communications you send through our platform.
Information you choose to make public (profile details, build showcases, forum posts, marketplace listings) is visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines.
We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our platform, such as hosting, payment processing, and analytics services. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
With your consent, we may share relevant information with verified automotive businesses, event organizers, and service providers to enhance your experience.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to ensure user safety and platform integrity.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
While we implement strong security measures, no system is 100% secure. We recommend using strong passwords and keeping your account information confidential.
You can enable or disable location sharing through your device settings or account preferences. Disabling location services may limit some platform features.
Background sharing in Cruise lobbies has its own switch, in the app on the live map under your own driver card. Turning it off there stops it immediately and removes you from the map; you can also revoke the permission entirely in your device settings.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences, though some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
