BMW Performance Center Experience 2027

The annual visit by the San Diego BMW Car Club of America to the BMW Performance Center West in Thermal, CA.

The day includes lead-follow track laps in M cars around the racetrack at The Thermal Club, a skid pad rat race on a slick skid pad, a timed autocross with trophies for the top 3 finishers, and a down-and-back drag race.

A gourmet lunch prepared by BMW chefs on site is included.

The event starts at noon with a buffet lunch at the Performance Center.

After a safety orientation, drivers play with the cars until about 4:30pm.

Previous experience is not required and beginners are welcome.

Who can attend: the event is open to BMW CCA Primary or Associate members who are at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.

Guests cannot spectate, ride along or go near the courses.

Each member must register themselves; members cannot register other members or sign up on behalf of guests.

Guests who want to drive need their own BMW CCA membership and their own Track Rabbit account.

Price: $399 per driver, plus about 5% if paying by credit card, or no extra cost if paying by ACH from your bank account.

The card is charged immediately upon registration and is subject to the cancellation policy.

The price is only available to BMW CCA members.

A gift code can be purchased, but it does not guarantee a registration spot; the recipient must still register before the event sells out.

Before entering the facility, every driver must sign a track liability waiver.

A link is emailed at least a week before the event.

The club is considering a group dinner after the event.

Registrants will be asked whether they are interested, and told a few days before if it is officially organized.

The club does not coordinate hotels; the page suggests Palm Springs area accommodations for those travelling from farther away.

Hosted by BMW CCA San Diego Chapter.
