PCA Cal-Inland 2nd Saturday Tour to River's End BBQ

The CAI 2nd Saturday Drive is the California Inland Region's signature monthly canyon run through Bouquet, San Francisquito and Angeles Forest Highway. It is a social touring drive, not a race, and is especially welcoming to new members. The drive is free, but registration is required. The route is 77 miles with +6,127 ft / -5,525 ft elevation change. It covers Bouquet Canyon Road, Spunky Canyon Road, San Francisquito Canyon Road, Elizabeth Lake Road, Soledad Canyon Road, Angeles Forest Highway and Aliso Canyon Road. Highlights include views of the Bouquet Canyon Reservoir and a pass through the Soledad Canyon tunnel, featured in Steven Spielberg's movie Duel. Schedule: 9:15 AM meet and stage in Santa Clarita; 9:30 AM drivers meeting; about 10:45 AM mid-route break at the Albertsons in Palmdale (South entrance by Subway) for a quick stretch, restroom break and regroup; 11:00 AM second drivers meeting and departure. Northern members can join the group at the Palmdale stop. The drive finishes at River's End Pub & BBQ, a local favorite serving slow-smoked BBQ and pub fare, from brisket and pulled pork to burgers.
